Biography of Shaykh Maulana Qari Abdul Hafiz Sahib at a Glance
January 10, 1959, 26 Paush 1365 Bengali, Saturday. Calm and cool atmosphere. This is a perfect time for a luxurious sleep after lunch. The heat of the sun has subsided. The rural atmosphere is spreading a gentle breeze of peace. The shepherds and farmers are resting under the shade of trees after a long day of work. The cows in the field are sitting tiredly and cutting grass. The noise of the people outside has subsided. The wives and maids of the house are finishing their handiwork and preparing to go to bed. At that time, a human sun rose in a noble family in the secluded village of Noor Nagar in the Shahbagh area of Zakiganj police station in green and gray Sylhet. The sun that will shine day and night, its rays will spread from village to village to the far horizon. That sun was named Abdul Hafiz. The radiance of his knowledge will dispel the waves of the sea. The path of Sirat Mustaqeem will show the way to the lost travelers. The light that this traveler of the ages carried with him is the light that guides countless people to the true and straight path. The house of Mr. Munshi Farm Ali and Zara Bibi is always blessed with the benefits and blessings of the sadhana of Maulana Qari Abdul Hafiz, who has illuminated the house of Mr. Munshi Farm Ali (may Allah have mercy on him). His father Mr. Munshi Farm Ali (may Allah have mercy on him) and mother Zafura Bibi were very God-fearing. They were well-known as ideal personalities in the area.
Hazrat Maulana Qari Abdul Hafiz Sahib’s father was a strict follower of Sunnah. Therefore, he performed Aqiqah according to Sunnah and named his son “Abdul Hafiz”. But now, the people of the area call this great man “Qari Sahib”. He was known by this affectionate name during his childhood and adolescence.
Education and initiation:
The one who will grow up to spread the light of guidance showed his talent in his childhood. From then on, the petals of potential began to bloom. Why would it be an exception in the case of child Abdul Hafiz? In his childhood, he learned the Quran Sharif recitation and other important matters from his parents and in the mosque’s maktab. Then, when he crossed the threshold of basic education and reached the age of formal education, he enrolled in Noor Nagar Primary School and studied continuously from the first grade to the fifth grade. Then, after completing his school life, he went to the madrasa. First, he enrolled in Mewa Madrasa. There, he studied for two years from the 4th grade to the 5th grade. Then, he enrolled in the Hussainiya Madrasa in Dakshinkach. There, Safila studied from the 1st grade to the 2nd grade. Then, with a thirst for knowledge, he appeared at the Jamia Qasimul Uloom Dargah located next to the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal Mujarrade Yamani (RA). There, he studied up to Nahbemir. Then, in 1405 AH, he completed his studies up to Daura-e-Hadith there and ended his educational life.
During his academic career, his respected teachers, far from disciplining him, never even scolded him. In fact, they didn’t have to. Deep down, they must have sensed some kind of achievement, peace, or the indomitable power of this rare talent.
He has shown such rare examples of study and study in his student life that he has brought the fictional stories written in the book to life. He has shown examples of how much attention and diligence one has to be in studying. Therefore, it can be seen that there is no such field prevalent in his contemporary times, about which he does not have a fair knowledge of knowledge, or which remains hidden from his knowledge. Therefore, he always orders the younger ones, “Whatever you read or know, you will know it in its depth. Let no one confuse or disturb you in this matter.”
His fascination with reading daily newspapers was worth seeing. He would read every news, column, and feature in such a way that its details would be etched in his mind. Yet, his influence was not noticeable at all. From the outside, it was like a calm river, but inside, it was a raging wave. A fruit-bearing tree that always bows down! Wherever he had the opportunity to read and study, his reading and study fascinated everyone there.
Just as he was proficient in extracurricular activities, his achievements in class and in the classroom were also extraordinary. He made the merit list his own from the beginning of his student life, and he maintained that achievement until the last class of his life.
Moreover, he is a skilled reciter in the science of recitation and tajweed. His melodious voice of recitation of the Quran wins the hearts of everyone in an instant. His divine voice of recitation of the Quran attracts everyone. His melodious voice of recitation of the Quran fascinates and enchants anyone. Everyone enjoys the melodiousness of the Quran and the melodiousness of the Surahs. That is why people love him and call him “Qari Sahib”.

After crossing the boundaries of knowledge, Talbe started his career as a teacher at Rustampur Madrasa. He taught there with distinction for two years. He was a very beloved teacher of the students. He loved the students as his own children as the students loved him. Then from there he moved to Jamia Muhammadia Shahugli Madrasa. There he rendered tireless service. Impressed by his skills, the Majlis Shura of the Madrasa appointed him as Naibe Muhtamim and Nazim-e-Talimat. He served there for a long time. There he left his mark on his skills. The people of Shahugli are still bearing his testimony today. Due to this, many of his students were formed.
Then in 1984, he built a building in his locality Shahbagh for the purpose of teaching the pure recitation of the Holy Quran and created a wonderful center of the Madaniya Quran Education Board. Till today, hundreds of students are studying Ilm-e-Qira’at there. Seeing his extraordinary interest in the Holy Quran and Ilm-e-Din, in 1984, he was appointed as the Muhtamim of Shahbagh Jamia Madaniya Qasimul Uloom Madrasa with the spontaneous consensus of the people of all walks of life in the Shahbagh area. Moreover, he performed the sacred duties of Imamate and Khatib in different mosques at different times. He led the Imamate in the big Jama Masjid of the city for a long time. In addition, he is one of the main founders of Chatal Madrasa. In addition to being the Ihtemam of Shahbagh Madrasa, he has decorated the posts of Muhtamim of many other madrasas. Nijgram and Uttarkul Madrasas are especially notable.
Then, in 1998, he moved to Spain, a country with a rich Muslim history, in Europe, for the purpose of earning a halal livelihood. After staying there for a year, he moved to the UK in 1999 and has been living there ever since. He led the congregation at 98 Classic Road Jame Mosque in London for a long time. By the grace of Allah Almighty, he is currently running the madrasa from the UK with full efficiency. Moreover, he performed the holy Hajj and Umrah several times. He visited many countries for the development of the madrasa. Among them, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Jordan, India, Morocco, America, and Canada are notable. Fa lillahil hamdu wal minnah.
Human service:
He is always vocal in implementing the rights of people from different classes and professions of the society. He works in solidarity with the deprived, neglected, and exploited people of his area. His daily work begins with the thought of supporting neglected, orphaned, and distressed children. Anyone who sees his sincere and lively treatment of them becomes fascinated and overwhelmed. He is happy with their happiness. As a result, these helpless orphaned children and poor and distressed people have become his ultimate strength, his courage to move forward. His work has no limits. He does various tasks all day long like a servant in the madrasa. Due to his sincerity and strong conviction in any work, he has become very dear to the people of the area. The people have infinite trust and love for him. Outside the responsibility of running the madrasa, he has become an unprecedented example in public service.
He started an NGO approved by the Bangladesh government for human service in the country. The organization’s official reg. No. 3052. Alhamdulillah, since its establishment, the organization has been doing various developmental works in human service. Especially, it is engaged in various types of social services including emergency relief, food and livelihood, pure water, orphan sponsorship, construction of houses for the homeless, provision of all necessary things in flood-affected areas, medical and healthcare, education-initiation, construction of mosques-madrasas, distribution of sacrificial meat among the helpless, distribution of Eid gifts among the poor.
He is especially weak towards orphans. He hugs orphans when he finds them. Even sometimes he cries when he sees orphans. It is a sight to see how much he loves them by taking them in his arms. So he built a huge four-storey building to raise orphans. There are numerous orphans and helpless children here. He is constantly taking care of them completely. Currently, the orphanage has received capitation grant. Its official reg. No.: 1117/10.
He founded the Shahbagh Jamia Madaniya Qasimul Uloom Trust in London. He is also associated with numerous charities including the Muhammad Bilal Welfare Foundation. May Allah reward him with good.
In his personal life, he is married. He has two capable sons. He has educated and raised both of them in religious education and both are established in their own places – Alhamdulillah.
I pray that Allah Almighty will keep him alive for a hundred years. May his work be preserved for eternity. May his record of achievements continue to be filled with ongoing rewards.
The Principal's Message to All Muslim Brothers and Sisters
Assalamu Alaikum,
Jamia Madaniya Qasimul Uloom, Shahbagh, Zakiganj, Sylhet, Bangladesh. We welcome you to build your child’s career through modern education in the light of Quran and Sunnah.
Choosing the right Madrasa for your child is one of the most important decisions of your life, Alhamdulillah! We provide your child with high-quality Arabic medium, English medium and Bengali medium education in an Islamic environment. Our academic program includes Daura-e-Hadith games along with compulsory Quran education for all students. We have a strong Hifzul-Quran department. Your child has the opportunity to develop into a Hafiz/Hafizah along with his academic studies. Our new generation wants to be scientists, doctors, engineers, IT specialists and other professionals, first and foremost, excellent Muslims and responsible citizens. We must remember, “Our complete success is in the complete Deen”.
We always try to live by the path of Quran and Sunnah. So that your son/daughter becomes a good Muslim first and then a truly educated one. May Allah help us make this program a success.
My dear brothers and sisters,
I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, the One, the One, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. We also believe that Allah, the Exalted, has granted us complete success in the complete religion. Our religion is to follow the Quran and the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). On this basis, we have built our entire educational system which is centered on the Quran and the Sunnah. The curriculum we intend to develop will include the core subjects required to live as an ordinary Muslim. In addition to their general academic subjects, our students will receive religious instruction in Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah, Hadith and the Arabic language, especially on Quranic subjects such as Tajweed, Tilaawat and Translation.
The modern education system is divided into one of two extremes; The madrasa system aims to preserve and promote the traditional teachings of Islam, but also includes other educational fields necessary for the progress of society. Graduates of such institutions lack the necessary qualifications to lead a community.
On the other hand, the standard public education system includes academic subjects but does not include religious subjects such as the Quran, Hadith, Aqeedah and Fiqh. As a result, in recent years we have seen an alarming increase in the number of young people leaving Islam.
Our aim is to bridge this gap and strike a healthy balance between the two systems and to develop an innovative system combining the best elements of both worlds that will produce future generations of Muslim scholars and professionals.
The education system we are trying to build is neither a madrasa nor a public school. We want to create a mixed system where careful measures are taken to ensure that our children receive the best education. With this goal in mind, our program focuses on three key components:
Islamic Tarbiyah (Character Development): We will teach our children to maintain high moral standards as they progress through their education. By nurturing our next generation in this way, we will be one step closer to freeing our society from corruption and immorality. We dream of a world where scholars, social workers, politicians, engineers, doctors, lawyers, and other professionals lead our communities in a manner that emulates prophetic teachings. Our educational philosophy states that professionalism must be coupled with noble qualities such as honesty, compassion, selflessness, and empathy.
Teaching of Basic Islamic Sciences with Emphasis on the Quran: Our entire education system is centered on the Quran and Sunnah. The curriculum we aim to create will include the core subjects necessary for living as an ordinary Muslim. In addition to their general academic subjects, our students will receive religious instruction in subjects related to Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah, Hadith and Arabic language, with particular emphasis on Quranic subjects such as Tajweed, Tilawah and Translation.
Furthermore, we will provide the facility of memorizing the entire Quran for qualified students following in the footsteps of our previous Huffaz graduates. Our past experience has proven that memorizing the entire Quran is possible alongside general education.
General Educational Education that Meets International Standards: To be a functioning member of society, a Muslim must have adequate knowledge of his or her surrounding environment in which he or she plans to function. The education system must provide students with educational subjects relevant to living in modern society. Subjects such as Mathematics, Science, English, Social Studies etc. will be included in the curriculum. However, we are trying to create a curriculum that will provide high quality education for our students and exclude any elements that are contrary to Islamic thought.
To achieve this goal, we must pool our resources to build an education system that will serve as a process for producing these much-needed leaders. We believe in a broad definition of success that gives due importance to the well-being of both this world and the hereafter. Our goal is to provide the next generation of the Ummah with an education that will prepare them for both worlds. An education system that will equip students with the academic tools they need to pursue professional careers while at the same time rooting them in the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to create highly skilled manpower, visionary leaders and enlightened citizens by providing high-quality education through effective research. We are committed to developing human capital by sharpening creative thinking. In addition to creating and disseminating knowledge, our mission is to promote humanism and peace through ethical education. As part of our social component, we strive to bring about change for the betterment of society as a whole through education and public service.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to become one of the leading educational institutions in the country and a center of excellence in primary and higher education in the world. We believe in introducing new programs to enhance the quality of education and reviewing performance to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. We aim to dedicate ourselves to the highest standards of ethical conduct, innovation, customer focus and a management-systems approach that leads to continuous improvement in all our work.

The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed from which seven ears grow, each ear containing a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [the reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing.
